In this year’s lottery, 6 lakh 26 thousand 59 applications have been submitted against 1 lakh 7 thousand 890 vacant seats in government schools for the next academic year. This year students got the chance to apply for admission from 25th October to 14th November (although later in the 2nd term the application period was extended by 4 days till 18th November). About 626,000 applications have been submitted for admission to the vacant seats of classes One to Nine in 540 government secondary schools. Students can choose up to five schools on each application.
