How many candidates take part in the medical admission test?

What is the number of seats in the medical college ?
Admission to MBBS courses of 37 government medical colleges of the country is increasing by 1 thousand 30 seats this time. This decision will be effective from the 2023-24 academic year. This information has been given in the MBBS admission notification (revised) recently signed by the member secretary of the admission test committee and the director of the health education department. The notification mentions how many seats have been increased in any medical school. According to the memorandum, the number of seats in 18 government medical colleges in the country till the academic year 2020-21 is 4,350. And after this decision, the number of seats increased to 5 thousand 380. Of these, 4,230 are in general quotas and the remaining 120 are in different quotas. Of these, 87 are in the Freedom fighter quota. In addition, 70 more private medical colleges have 8,340 seats.

There are a total of 230 seats – Dhaka Medical College, Sir Salimullah Medical College, Mymensingh Medical College, Chittagong Medical College, Rajshahi Medical College, MAG Osmani Medical College, Sher-e-Bangla Medical College, Rangpur Medical College.
Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College has 200 seats. Besides, Comilla Medical College, Khulna Medical College, Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, Faridpur Medical College, M Abdur Rahim Medical College have 180 seats each. Besides, the number of seats in other medical colleges is less than one hundred.
How to apply for Re-scrutiny/ Challenge of Medical Admission Result 2024
If the result is not as expected in the medical admission result, any student can apply for review (challenge) of his / her result. The Department of Health Education issued a notification giving such opportunity to the admitted students. If a student is not satisfied with the result, he / she can apply for review of the result within the stipulated time, the notification said. MBBS Medical Admission Result Review or Re-scrutiny can be applied from 15th to 25th Feb, 2024.
Medical Admission Result Re-scrutiny Payment Method:
Each student has to pay a fee of BDT 1000/=. Using a Teletalk connected prepaid mobile phone, you need to make this application via SMS.
To review the medical admission result, you have to send DGHS [space] RSC [space] ROLL NO to 16222 in the message option of the mobile.
The applicant will get a PIN number in the return SMS of the mobile. (This will be required in the next SMS). Another SMS is required to pay the result review fee. Go to the message option and type –DGHS space RSC space YES space PIN number to 16222.
The applicant will then receive an SMS acknowledging receipt of the result review application from the concerned authority. Medical admission results will be announced later. However, the decision of the Department of Health will be final in the case of re-examination of medical admission results. The results can be found on the website of the Department of Health Education and via SMS on Teletalk Mobile. He said the results would not be officially released. The results can also be known through mobile SMS.

Medical Admission Procedure and Written (MCQ) Exam Mark Distribution
In case of MBBS 1st year admission in medical colleges, candidates will be selected on the basis of SSC and HSC examination numbers and MCQ examination numbers.
15 times GPA obtained in SSC exam = 75 marks (maximum).
25 times GPA obtained in HSC examination = 125 marks (maximum).
Total number of MCQ written test = 100.
The merit list of the candidates will be prepared out of the total 300 marks. Thematic division of MCQ written exams: Physics-20; Chemistry-25; Biology-30; English-15 and General Knowledge (History and Liberation War of Bangladesh) -10.
Candidates who have passed HSC in the previous year, 5 marks will be deducted from the total marks obtained. For medical or dental students admitted in the previous year, 7.5 marks will be deducted from the total marks obtained. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in MCQ test. Must get at least 40 marks in MCQ written test.
